Arsenal vs Wigan

Random people outsideHere be some photies from the recent Arsenal vs Wigan game in the Carling Cup at the Emirates Stadium in North London.  My friend at work, Ash, is a big Arsenal fan, bless him.  We were in the cheap seats (£10 to watch two Premiership teams?  Damn that’s cheap!) and I wasn’t expecting to get great views, but the lower angle gave me something different, and I was a lot closer to the players than usual, which allowed the shot of perenial sick note Chris Kirkland leathering the ball from a goal kick.

These were all shot with the Nikon D90, which I’ve been giving a good run for it’s money in the last month.  The ISO 1600 mode held up pretty well under these conditions, though having said that I lost a lot of shots because it still wasn’t fast enough to stop motion blur most of the time.

The shot of Chris Kirkland has been edited using a fake tilt-shift technique.  A video tutorial of how to create a fake tilt shift effect is available here.
